How to Prepare for Ransomware Attacks and Understand Your Current Posture

According to Gartner®, “Ransomware attacks continue to increase. Bad actors have changed tactics, and are using techniques that are more sophisticated and targeted. To help protect the organization from ransomware, security and risk management leaders need to look beyond just the endpoints.”1

In their recent research entitled How to Prepare for Ransomware Attacks, Gartner states that organizations need to be prepared to detect and recover from ransomware as quickly as possible, and provides a number of recommendations to help SMEs reach this goal.

This Gartner research document includes recommendations for:

  • Constructing a Pre-incident Preparation Strategy
  • Implementing Detection Measures to Identify Ransomware Attacks
  • Building Peri- and Post Incident Response Procedures by Training Staff and Scheduling Drills
  • Developing a Ransomware Playbook
